Manchester United has finally won the new season of
the English Premier League. The team opened its account in the points table
after beating last season’s runners-up Liverpool 2–1. United was defeated 2–1
by Brighton in their first match of the season, while in the second match they
suffered a crushing 4–0 defeat at the hands of Brentford. In such a situation,
by defeating a big team like Liverpool at their own ground in their third match
of the season, United has shown signs of moving towards a strong season.
From the very beginning of the match, United started
putting shots through the attack. United’s Elanga had a good chance in the 10th
minute but the ball hit outside Liverpool’s goal post. United’s young player
Jaden Sancho scored the first goal of the match in the 16th minute. Sancho
brilliantly tackled the pass from Elgana and put the ball into Liverpool’s goal
post. After this, no further goal was scored in the first half.

were better than Liverpool’s. In the second half, Marcus Rashford scored for
United in the 54th minute to give the team a 2-0 lead. Mo Salah gave some
relief for Liverpool in the 81st minute, but the team could not score the
second goal till full time and the match was named for United.
Erik ten Haig was overjoyed, and fans jumped in too
The win also opened the account of United’s new
manager Eric Tan Haig. This is his first win with the team as a coach. United’s
performance last season was worse than expected and the team finished the
season in sixth place.
